Cook

Description

Cooking was a profession that focused on building green tagged consumable food items.

The system underwent radical changes toward the end of the game.

The entire system was available for players to browze in the rulebook, and while common components and their effects were listed, uncommon and rare versions of those components remained unknown. Once you knew what something did you could share that information freely with other cooks.

Investing more build into this profession let you make tastier food, and gave you access to new preservation techniques, which could be learned individually over time.

You could also learn how to cook specific recipes from tagged books in the game.

I don't think there was a high tech version of Cook in Second Dawn, but if there was it dealt in pharmaceuticals.

Inventions

Cook inventions ranged from new preservation techniques to special abilities that changed the way medicine could be administered. Specific examples include: Deep fried food, Mould Farms and Viral Medicine / Poison.

History

Cook inventions were some of the most interesting and powerful in the entire game. Viral delivery systems were instrumental in helping the residents of Karst defeat The Family. Virtually every advance in cooking technology in the last year of the game altered the entire playing field.
