Oh man, I love this game already! I can tell there's gonna be some fun times ahead.
Getting to use my cook profession. Whether hunting for components, going hunting, or seeing some of the cool stuff I can make with cook, it's never a bad time. I'm -very- excited to see the new things I can put together with it. And it is of course always fun to talk to the NPCs who are good with cooking.
Finding out I can actually run pretty fast when I have to. You find some extra endurance and speed when there's about 20+ mutants behind you.
Guiseppe making me his squire, and the sort of friendship or at least grudging respect we have for each other now.
Getting swindled into buying and then returning some emeralds. Well played, Mr. Brady Tatro.
Making friends with Brit's serf character! Peeling potatoes, having small talk, and her bewildered reaction to Michael giving her a random buttercup he found.
The Facility. The ambient sounds, the creepy medical outfits and bulging eyes made for a great first encounter.
Boar hunting! Though we didn't find a boar, we did find some good stuff.
Learning how to fight with a spear, and then getting a very sink-or-swim final lesson in how to fight with it. I was told by a couple people that Guiseppe had a surprise for me back at the trading post. I had absolutely no idea what it would be, until I see Brit come out as a warpaint-covered lady with a large sword. I was told "We found her peeling a man's face off with her bare hands. We want you to fight her." Hearing people putting my odds at 6:1 followed by the statement "He's like a father who throws his kid in the lake to teach swimming, isn't he?" made me resolve to give it my best, and I just barely pulled through that fight intact. I was happy to hear there were people betting on me who got a payoff.
Simon's awesome NPCs. From Pec and his... interesting stock to terrifying executioner mutants to a Timochen fellow who I arm-wrestled for three salt, they're all fun. Kirill especially. Directorate stuff is always great, and getting to be part of a guided meditation is something I always love.
Awkward conversations with Lady Giotto!
Bluffing both bandits and mutants into running away from me with an unloaded sawed-off. I love that gun so much.
House Caplain(sp?) From crazy behaviors to unintentionally backhanded compliments/praises, they're great.
Getting a lollipop from Natasha for being so brave about getting healed.
Dave Burbank being amazing and the best of sports. Miles was down on one knee fighting off Dave with a giant axe, and I jump down the embankment near the path to the boat docks, and fire one shot. It was unfortunately a head shot, but Dave rolled with it, and dropped instantly. Thank you for being awesome, Mr. Burbank.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and here's a bit of why: -chumming about with the Directorate this weekend, great RPers the lot of them, and a game is always better when you have fun allies. -Simon and James Carol definitely had the most entertaining NPCs of the weekend, whenever either one showed up in town, I couldn't miss it. -Props to Hutch for running components back and forth for folks, I loved the prof system in this game, each time my envelope came back it was like getting a present. -Post-breakfast huka smoking, thanks to Aaron for coming prepared smile -Space heaters--nuff said. -Tim's bandit crayon picture loot. Best loot of the weekend. -Loved the gathering system, props to staff for getting that hardcore about hiding random foodstuffs. -Ultimate favorite moment was fighting frantically in our cabin against a mutant horde. It was chaotic, and ultimately we lost, but I've never had so much fun in such a desperate fight.
Those are some big ones for me, and I'm sure I'll remember more later when the post-larp fog clears.
Stripe Apr '12
Omg, all the new cannon too. Like "Squid five" and the directorate all having Russian accents! Also, THE PUNS!!! So many puns there were.
system Apr '12
Also Dom you can be creepy and sneaky and sound like death coming for all man kind
Nocturneblaze Apr '12
Dom- Glad you enjoyed the drawing. Now feel awful you murdered a father and a husband trying to provide for his family smile

I figured I'd chime in with my list:
Spending time putting faces to the names i see in the condenser.
Actually seeing all the hard workd tibbs, simon, dave, tim, james, alex, et al. put in over the last two years coming to fruition
Seeing players try and solves things through rp and not combat.
The Amazing Hair Brothers Club for Men.
If you're unaware, this is actually my first time at any LARP at all. Surprising considering how many larpers i live with.

Best moments?
Sharing a world I spent two years building alongside a couple friends with 50+ people.
Tibbs as Warlord Kitekt: "YOU SHOULD THANK ME FOR MY MERCY THIS DAY!"
Frenchman/Ivan: "Thank you for your mercy this day."
Tibbs: "...YOU'RE WELCOME."
AndyTwo-Steps Apr '12
I... honestly don't know where to start. So, in no particular order:
-Dropping one of Kitekt's men by shooting him as I slid down an embankment, and then engaging the man at the bottom in melee -On Sunday, my fight with the bandit who murdered a Crimson Star and took his patch. For Great Justice! -Peck. Just, just Peck. XD -Spending most of every fight behind enemy lines -Distracting mutants with a maraca egg -Getting a package to take to the Tekalli -Crud! -Becoming Squire Two-Steps of House Caplan -"What is house Caplan too cool for?" -Telling the story of the Live Wires after Crud was mostly over -War Games with the Legion -Dat Legion Trial -Diffusing an extremely tense situation between some justifiably angry, heavily armed Aldebrandi and a well-intentioned albeit unwise Legionnaire Lt -Learning what the Crimson Star symbol really means -Watching Sir Miles of House Caplan "Ride the Orc" -Squirrel Calls and Squirrel Husbands -Fighting an "Executioner" Mutant with no weapons -The Duster Trial -Dual Finishing Blows with Sir Miles
I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting.

Shannon: Being more awesome than Tim Jones.

Blue stands over my Raider corpse: "I throw your stupid jerk face into the stupid jerk woods."
DirkangelOld Skunk Apr '12
This past weekend is still mostly a sleep-deprived blur, and I loved every moment of it (except for the tick part), but here are a few of my personal highlights, in no particular order:
-Playing Old Skunk, and the kind indulgence he was given by everyone, Duster or not -The Dust Runners turning a simple treaty with the local farmers into a whole lot more, and ensuing snowballing plots -The trial of Little Boot -Crud! And all the folks who showed up to share a Duster tradition. -Lady Caplan's moving tale about the deprivations of the noble life, and the horrors of the wrong color purple -Showing up at 3 a.m. in Dustertown as an Aldebrandi noble looking for "drugs", and finding a veritable Chemist's convention -respawning as a bandit Saturday afternoon, and attacking my fellow bandits in confusion -negotiating a possible double marriage between the Caplan boys and my farming sisters, before thier untimely demise -Our wonderful kitchen serfs, and the mountains of food they labored around the clock to churn into our bottomless bellies
There were countless moments of great roleplay I witnessed between players, and I was pleased and honored to see everyone jump and and breathe life into the world I've helped craft.
system Apr '12
-Following Skunk's dramatic tale with a troll-tastic story about 1st world troubles as an Aldebrandi. I simply had to. -"what did we learn here, two steps?" "Dont get beat up?" "No, dont fight fair!" -making Acantha my squire. She hasn't said no. -michael/zack bluffing when we were nearly overrun with bandits. Well played good sir. -Drug dealing. -squirrel? -finding a case of possibly old world bank notes...trash! -aviators. -The duster response to the first attempt by the warlord for 100 salt
Nocturneblaze Apr '12
Why not,
Amazing Hair Brothers Club for Men
Waylaying Frenchman after he literally just finished waylaying someone and watching him fall on top.
Shooting Zack with a 6 Crushing after he refused to let me leave with my arm being so "hurt"
Lying in the facility in a dead position behind the door, then jerking "to life" when someone got close enough to me.
Using bows. Archery is fun as hell.
All in all, I had an awesome weekend. Looking forward to coming back to get beat up some more and have shenaniganz times.
DaveGame Director Apr '12
I think it's safe to say Aaron's "Thank you" is on many people's highlights of the event. Other things I loved about this weekend: Being able to put faces to names I've seen for some time in the Condenser. It was great to see the Directorate players intuitively being on the same page with their accents. The interesting ways players took some of the plots that went out. Brady getting progressively sicker with each group he brought through the facility. Seeing the amazing costumes the players created.

Well, this was my first larping experience and so I want to thank everyone for making it a blast...even if I was killed many many times. So my best experiences in no particular order:
-Being a part of a mutant horde attacking an unsuspecting cabin -Seeing someone actually climb on a bunk to try and fight us through the door in previously mentioned battle. -The awesome evolution of a situation caused by the deaths of a couple of farm girls and boy. It went completely different from what I expected and I loved every minute of it. -Being reasoned and traded with and then escorted while being raider archers...cough I mean hunters tracking birds -Being a mutant distracted by a net being 'thrown' while people raided our nest of shiney things. -And the all around awesomeness of people who, after I was dead, made a point of keeping me from being smacked by a door or falling under a guard rail into a stream
There were certainly other moments and I'm sure there will be more in the future too smile
Jordan May '12
Heh, trading and then escorting raiders... cough hunters. Hilarious.
Solvin' problems with diplomacy... Never have I seen this work.
Old Skunk. All of the moments.
Solving farmer problems. Or trying to. Or failing...
