Wow, so many. I don't even. This game was amazing for me.
Conversation with Jurgen at the fireside. Some of the best rp I've had at game yet.
Conversation with Zorrah when he kept me company in the kitchen. LOVED THAT.
Making "whiskey" with Manny and Niccolo and the subsequent hilarity that ensued from Niccolo being WASTED.
Guiseppe saying "thank you", and Dahlia being like "THANK YOU?!"
Dot getting up, holding his guts, and TRYING TO GET AWAY! Well done, Cory.
Being mega impressed with the bravery of Small Fry and her interest in being my squire. (hot bitch army time!)
Dinner party! I love doing these. My guests were phenomenal. Tekali poker after was great fun, too.
The appearance of the Candyman at the most awkward time EVAR.
Getting to be walkintalkin buddies with Zorrah all evening. <3
Keith's new Lasanno character, I LOVE HIM! SO GREAT!
Getting to add to Dee's dinosaur collection.
Every moment interacting with Rosanna.
D: "Rosanna, will you tell these serfs to leave?"
R: to serfs "Get out. Now."
serfs scamper
D: "Thank you Rosanna."
The fact that the Aldebrani of Beacon are all "fuck this, we're changing things" and taking matters of corruption into our own hands. SUCH PLOT. VERY DIRECTION. WOW.
I also sincerely regret naming that Vartok NPC "Caroline". What the fuck was I thinking? Also balloons.
Small_FryFaustine Caplan Apr '14
Such a good first event, like holy wow.
Uhhh, being a big damn hero and hiding us during Jailbreak Time.
Conversations involving bringing a chess set to the Tekali, stabbing them in the eye and then explaining how to play chess.
Buenos and Buenomancy and Buenotaurs.
Running the eff away and not being ashamed of it.
"SMALL FRY! I DON'T THINK THEY SAW US SMALL FRY." and 'I didn't step on that twig, hang on SNAP k we're good.'
Late night fire dying conversation with Patches and having Timmy show up and be terrible at sneaking. And then eggin him on when he was trying to find someone to shoot. J-dawg getting shot after a "WALK FORWARD." from Patches.
Making up names for people I can't remember names for. J-dawg
Saving Dahlia from getting kidnapped.
Looting the Inquisitor at Aldebrandi Services. Guiseppe lookin at me and saying "Go on, you know you want to" and my face lighting up like a christmas tree with "REALLY?! THANKS!"
Shocky whip. Bling.
3-way tradesies with a Fat Rat and Lex. I wanted that purple string so bad! Also Chelle's Fat Rat character was awesome.
Limping back to town with Dahlia when we both had a broken leg and were carrying Lily who was bleeding out. Great bonding moment for Knight and Squire.
EDIT: I forgot the drones. Teaching them to drink was awesome and then the whole conversation about the one named Caroline and what we thought the name sounded like. It was way too meta, but I loved every second of it. Especially the point where OOG Caroline realized what a terrible mistake she'd made. Also I assume it was Matt who taught the drones to flip people off. BEST EVER. OMG.
Niccolo Apr '14
Being offered a pair of mint-condition cocktail glasses for 100 salt and not even hesitating to say "Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"
Making "whiskey" with Manny and Dahlia. "You have to help us! They're liable to go blind or worse if they keep making their own booze!"
"This has been a wonderful conversation. It's a right shame I won't remember it tomorrow morning..."
Rehabilitating Vartok drones with Giuseppe and Manny at 3:30 am.
Party juice, now with 20% more rage and fury!
"You have one of those? And two of those? Where did you get that?!.... you damn wizard..."
Wakka-Wakka, Mega Mecha Maka!
Stealthing through the spider module with a tremendously fun crew.
"Eat Desert #4. Taste the brown!", "Buy Zorrah. Buy the best!", "Everyone hates you so much!"
So... much... sugar...
The record-scratching stop when Balabar said: "F**K YOU, JURGEN!"
The newcomers, who were a blast to have around.
Sedgewick Apr '14
I started a fire.
The camp caught on fire.
The fire I started wasn't the cause of the camp catching on fire.
VoodooSpecterGribbit Apr '14
Sausage Fest with the Directorate Desert Number 4: I know the secrets of your deliciousness now, you tasty bastard. I think we need to have a quest where the primary reward is Desert Number 4. Because I would gladly help someone else put their life on the line for that. Continuing the fine tradition of being horrifyingly bad at anything to do with being underhanded, sneaky or thiefy. Actually succeeding at a heist in spite of this - by the way, that's the first time that's ever happened. I may be the worst thief ever, but I got the goods I was looking for so I give zero buenos. Achieving all of my goals... some of them a little too well (I wound up with four guns - not that I'm complaining I just didn't prepare enough phys reps).
The running:

Loved the running.
+1 for those awesome drones, they made my day multiple times.
Fire Safety lessons.
I need to get more into my character between this game and the next. I felt like there was too much to learn about everything else to really get into my role as well as I usually do.

~ Duster Meeting seeming to go over better than expected even if in hindsight no one is going to do anything about anything I said.
~ The moment of "Oh, crap, that's Two Butts. I have walked into a very obvious trap. Wonderful."
~ Being vivisected to death because of paranoia.
~ Saturday night Tekalli fight. I do not believe I have ever had more fun during a larp combat.
~ Kyle/Vee hopping around like a mad man and strip searching children once he realized they had drugs.
~ Sitting in staff center and realizing that Dot was the cause of half the things that went out the door this event.
~ Second Dawn Year Three: Tree on Fire.
Fellby Apr '14
My first game at Burning Tree: The Second Dawning was a huge success smile
My phone autocorrecting Lasano to Lasagna prior to game on.
Almost getting killed by the bug thing Friday night before even getting to Beacon.
Scavenging all sorts of shinies while everyone slept early Saturday.
Finding the Trading Post door trapped Saturday morning that failed to blow up myself and Dahlia, so we put up a sign.
Watching illiterate dusters walk into the aforementioned trap, even with the pretty pictures I added.
Starting the fire with Jurgen in the rain
The Duke, at all times.
Tekalli kidnapping, followed by the chess conversation.
Little Dot, The Inquisitor, Michael Sheridan.
Spider Mod
Seeing random noble guy, riding "Mount". Oh god my insides.
Two Steps' Coat
Al, Betty, Caroline
The fact that the Aldebrani of Beacon are all "fuck this, we're changing things" and taking matters of corruption into our own hands. SUCH PLOT. VERY DIRECTION. WOW.
Love that I was there for the start of this.
And, that one picture of the Aldebrandi that sums it all up.
I'm sure there is plenty more I can't remember at this time either. One hell of a way to kick-off starting at Second Dawn! I will definitely be sticking around
dcltdwKonstantin Novoselov Apr '14
Dave C during setup: "Wow. Zero fucks are being given by those hornets." (He had sprayed two of them with bugspray inside the module building.)

i did something about what you said. your words combined with the rest of the group not arguing with them and Old Skunk actually agreeing on one point inspired me to stop being a duster stuck_out_tongue my favorites: [ul][li] [/li]
taking over smut hour! i dont remember the last time i laughed so much
asking dahlia to give me advice on being more ladylike and proper and shortly after that, asking whether reading smut out loud is acceptable behavior
i was too cold and tired to cook what i had planned to for crud so i made it sunday morning instead... Giussepie used it to train Al, Betty, and Caroline the drones much the way one would use treats to train animals
doing the dishes! when it is unbearably cold outside it is sooooo nice to be in that warm kitchen
The Duke!
watching the death of the inquisitor. i knew something was going to happen but didnt know how or where
a bunch of other tings that i cant think of right now [/ul]

Oh, how on earth could I have forgotten Two Steps' Postmaster General speech? It was such a surprisingly good seemingly prepared speech! Huge props to Andy for managing to make a genuinely happy moment out of what should have been eye rollingly silly.

I can't think of anything you could have said that would have hurt me more than you just did.

sorry to have hurt you.
Nothing so serious as all that. Just saddening to realize Dot drove people away from the group he was trying so very hard to safeguard.
Small_FryFaustine Caplan Apr '14
If it makes any difference, it inspired Small Fry to stay a duster for life.
Born a duster, die a duster!

Good Dustering, Squire Small Fry.
car0murCaroline Apr '14
Hey, don't scare off my squire. I'm nice to yours. I even got her a dinosaur.
DirkangelOld Skunk Apr '14
Good Dustering, Squire Small Fry.
Hey, if Aldebrandi youngsters can take a faction vacation (cough, Astrid, cough) so can Dusters!
ehutch79Hutch Apr '14
less a vacation, more a phase...
Small_FryFaustine Caplan Apr '14
You'll see, guys. You'll see. I'll always be a duster. I don't even want to know anything else. Aldebrandi life looks wayyyy too cushy. If life isn't difficult, it's not fun. Survival is a game, guys.

Dave C during setup: "Wow. Zero fucks are being given by those hornets." (He had sprayed two of them with bugspray inside the module building.)
One of them went away. The other hung around and continued to give absolutely zero fucks for quite a while.
Other favorites (I need to start writing them down during events) -Walk out of staff center. See a bunch of Aldebrandi moving towards Little Dot. Walk back into staff center to find a surgery bag. -Natasha explaining why geology is fun. -How well the mod went. Kuddos to Jimmy and Laura for getting the tarps, etc, in place quickly on Saturday. -Getting reports back in staff center about plots I couldn't witness, but wished I could.
On a semi-related note: I learned to stop responding to interruptions with "Something better be on fire."
wowy319Zack Oak Apr '14
Oh man, this event was great! So many fun times, so many great moments.
Cory mother-effin-Knowles, taking everything staff dished out like a champ and bringing one of the most interesting characters into a LARP I've ever seen. The RP with Johnny was fantastic, and everything involving Dot was great.
Leeching time with Dr. Giuseppe, and the most unfortunate family of mutants ever.
Old Skunk's dad reflexes telling Blanket to watch his language right over his shoulder. "Well, that just happened."
Duster politics!
Duster medicine and the gallows humor involved.
Spider mod, and the eggs. Yes, those spider eggs were Cadbury eggs. All the moments that went down there were awesome.
Michael Sheridan's death. I have had a lot of feelings about how that character's story went down since I first created him, and it was good to see him get a solid conclusion that felt real, and was an emotional plot for everyone involved. Thank you to folks for making that character's conclusion awesome.
lde47Cross May '14
-Smut hour. Need more research!
-2steps bopping the inquisitor on the head and him looking back wide eyes in slow motion
-Watching people walk buy with the legionnaires, "Do you think game started yet?"
-My first crafted item... fuel!
-Walking after the tree monster drunk, "Combak eer you! Izgonno hit youuuu!"
-Seeing Beacon rally to form a rescue team!
AndyTwo-Steps May '14
Oh, how on earth could I have forgotten Two Steps' Postmaster General speech? It was such a surprisingly good seemingly prepared speech! Huge props to Andy for managing to make a genuinely happy moment out of what should have been eye rollingly silly.
Thank you! I'm glad it didn't just come off as really dumb. That speech was actually totally off the cuff, and I did not think I was going to pull it off going into it. I guess there is something to be said for having a moment, no matter how goofballtastic the character goals.
So obvious favorite thing is obvious, but besides that here are some memorable moments:
-Gobsmacking the Inquisitor and everything that followed. "So... the Inquisitor is dead now?" "Yup." "Well... I guess that had absolutely no long-term repercussions, then. Wow, I guess I didn't learn anything after all!"
-The letter to Jocheonsu. Never have I been so glad to keep a few wax seals in place.
-Mr. Ambassador. Just... just Mr. Ambassador. "Mr. Ambassador... does that gun have any bullets in it?" "......................at any rate!"
-Simon's Legionnaire, especially his response to the Post Master General speech. "..............well. I'm inspired, mate."
-The Ghostwood. Holy crap Moffat mod. "NO. NOPE. NAW. NOPE. NOOOOOOOOOPE."
-Pegging exactly where Timmy the Time Turner was from across camp. Not that we caught him, but hearing later that he was exactly where I thought he was at the time was totally satisfying.
-Party Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuice! "Small Fry... what? SMALL FRY. WHAT?"
-Cookie bar fondue oh god I was in love.
-Coming up against Sheridan, and realizing I couldn't fight him. Battlefeels.
-Henry White's Duke. All moments with the Duke were fantastic.
-Having actual mailboxes! Finally! Way too long in coming!
-"SMALL FRAH! I THINK THEY HEARD US SMALL FRAH!"
I'm sure there's more, but that is what I can think of for now.
VoodooSpecterGribbit May '14
IT WAS JUST THE ONE TIME stuck_out_tongue
I am gonna be so good at stealth next game. You'll see.
Blue May '14
Walk back into staff center to find a surgery bag.
Why?
car0murCaroline May '14
For the experimental surgery to remove his arm, duh.
Blue May '14
Oh yeah, I did need a staffer for that. It failed.
